The body of an East Jerusalem Palestinian was found in a burned out car in the West Bank city of Jericho early Thursday, in what police believe was a murder motivated by the recent sale of his four-story apartment building to Jews.
The family of Mohammed Abu al-Hawa, a 40-year-old father of eight, said that seven bullets had been fired at his head and car. Palestinian sources said he had also been beaten around the head.
According to Israel Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, al-Hawa was shot dead and his body and car torched.
"It seems to be that he was murdered in connection with the selling of a property to a Jewish buyer," he said.
