The bombing victims
Nine people were killed when terror struck in southern Tel Aviv on Monday as a suicide bomber blew himself up in a crowd at the entrance to Falafel Rosh Ha'ir.

Victor Erez, 60, a resident of Givatayim, died while expecting his sixth grandchild. As a soldier in the Six Day War, Erez lost his leg while serving within the Golani Brigade.

Holon resident David Shaulov, 29, was expecting his third son when he was killed. His wife Varda, who was in her ninth month of pregnancy, arrived on Monday at Lis Hospital in Tel Aviv after the couple felt that she was due.

Buda Pirushka, 50, and Rosalia Basnia, 48, were foreign workers from Romania. The details of their funerals were not released.

1. That's one side of the equation........
Israel has been shelling the gaza strip for two weeks. Fifteen people have died, at least two of them babies. The Palestinian death count is many times the Israeli death count, and it is growing.

Palestinians are currently under "lockdown"......which means that the people can go nowhere, do nothing (including take their sick to the hospital or see family, go to work or school) without the permission of an Israeli soldier, likely a teenager.

Hamas has called for an end to suicide bombings. That would be easier to achieve if Palestinian human rights were being respected.

There is no right in this situation at the moment, but I can understand the Palestinian bomber. After Israel has taken the land, blocked these people from their livelihood and crammed them into very small and separated enclaves, bombed and demolished their homes, and killed their children, it's hard to feel as much sympathy for the Jewish population as I wish I could.

17. Israel and Palestine must recognize that Israel and Palestine exist
...until this happens, both sides must be equally blamed. Personally, I believe that Israel is much more likely and capable of recognizing that Palestine exists as an independent unoccupied nation, since Israel is not occupied, and that is why I find it puzzling that Israel has not yet recognized that Palestine exists.

31. Then, Palestinians will have their own State....
... and won't have a reason to practice self-defense. This means that many more people would support Israel and condemn Palestine if it still refused to recognize that Israel exists.

Of course, if Israel recognizes that Palestine exists by annexing occupied territory without negotiations, then many people are going to argue that Palestinians have the right to defend themselves for the purposes of regaining that occupied territory. Thus, it would be best for Israel to attempt to work with the Hamas. The Hamas is making quite reasonable demands, but I understand that Israel has no desire to let non-Jewish Israelis to return to Israel and this makes sense given many deep hostilities which resulted from the past.

15. Haha
Sometime making serious statement with some fun thrown in good
Me think people sometime too serious get all defensive
Lose track of big picture
Debating micro hard world not black and white
Many thing subjectives
Solutions can only be found looking at big picture.
But looking at big picture
Require one to acknowledge so much more problems
Lots of hard work need to solve so many problems
Sometime easier to sweep others under carpet
But shit happen
Cause problems still there

22. Hey OV
I like your post, you write in sort of a prose style. The point is, after all, to communicate and you manage that pretty well. If you do want to improve your writing skills, I would suggest reading up on singular vs. plural and the use of prepositions.

18. In order to recognize that Palestine exists....
...Israel simply needs to leave the West Bank, accepting the green line as a permentent border between two independent unoccupied nations. As long as Israel does not recognize that Palestine exists, Palestinians are certainly not motivated to recognize that Israel exists and thus both sides are motivated to practice violence against the other.

32. It is always terrible when people get killed....
... thus we can only hope that one day soon both sides will recognize that both exist as independent unoccupied nations. I wish that more people would pressure both sides to recognize that both exist through fair agreements. I also wish that both sides would leave religion out of politics.

19. Israel is not the only nation...
...which prefers one race and/or culture over another. Most nations do this, unfortunately. Maybe Israel is a reflection of ourselves, an example of our own bigotry?

36. It is never just to harm the innocent, even when escaping genocide
It is rather unfortunate that some people believe that the innocent may be harmed since others were harmed. Our dislike of genocide should teach us to not harm others, even if others have been harmed. Certainly, people can be helped without causing harm to others! We must care about Palestinians as much as we care about Jews, since we dislike genocide!

38. It is not just the bombing, but the bombs....
Here is an article which contains X-Rays of the victims of Palestinian terrorist bombs.

Messing said one of the victims he saw while in Jerusalem had around 300 individual metallic fragments within his body. The metal fragments, measuring from millimeters to centimeters, were imbedded in the young man literally from head to toe, he said.

“Several of the fragments penetrated into his vital organs. He sustained a punctured colon, a collapsed lung, and a lacerated liver and kidney. I could actually feel the nails under his skin where they had burrowed and lodged,” Messing recalls.

Shrapnel is what killed Phillip Balhasan, who stayed alive long enough to realize his children had survived, and to hug them tightly before he collapsed.

But even this is not enough for the terrorists. They also soak the shrapnel in rat poison, because it causes hemorrhaging — victims may bleed to death before they can get to the hospital.
