"An Israeli military judge on Tuesday ordered the release of several Palestinian Hamas officials detained in a dragnet launched after a soldier was abducted by Gaza Strip gunmen, an army spokesman said.
Implementation of the Ofer Military Court judge's decision was deferred until Thursday so prosecutors could appeal.
"The judge has made a decision, and it now comes down to which detainees are released," the army spokesman said.
"The release has also been postponed for 48 hours so last challenges can be heard. If there is a successful appeal, the release could be halted," he said.
Israeli forces took at least 30 Hamas officials, among them Palestinian cabinet ministers and lawmakers, into custody after Corporal Gilad Shalit was seized in a June 25 border raid."
