What are you thoughts on Livni?
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/809796.htmlForeign Minister Tzipi Livni enjoys unrivaled support for head of Kadima and premiership within her party, while Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is trailing far behind, according to a new poll published by Israel Radio yesterday.
According to the poll, 49 percent of Kadima voters back Livni's nomination for head of the party should national elections be held earlier than scheduled, whereas only 8.7 percent of voters support the prime minister.
The poll, conducted by Panorama Markets, found that 42 percent of participants believe Olmert's government would last for just another year, 10 percent think it would last two more years, while 36 percent say it would last through the end of its term, November 2010.
Livni emerges from the poll as the most popular candidate for leading the party if Olmert quits and needs to be replaced: She enjoys the support of 37.7 percent of Kadima voters, compared to 16 percent who back Vice Premier Shimon Peres, 11.5 percent supporting Public Security Minister Avi Dichter, 7 percent backing Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz and approximately 6 percent favoring Construction and Housing Minister Meir Sheetrit.
