On striking Iran from Brigadier General (Res.) Oded Tira (IDF)
"President Bush lacks the political power to attack Iran. As an American strike in Iran is essential for our existence, we must help him pave the way by lobbying the Democratic Party (which is conducting itself foolishly) and US newspaper editors. We need to do this in order to turn the Iranian issue to a bipartisan one and unrelated to the Iraq failure."

-snip-

We must turn to Hillary Clinton and other potential presidential candidates in the Democratic Party so that they publicly support immediate action by Bush against Iran. We should also approach European countries so that they support American actions in Iran, so that Bush will not be isolated in the international arena again.

-snip-

We must clandestinely cooperate with Saudi Arabia so that it also persuades the US to strike Iran. For our part, we must prepare an independent military strike by coordinating flights in Iraqi airspace with the US. We should also coordinate with Azerbaijan the use of airbases in its territory and also enlist the support of the Azeri minority in Iran. In addition, we must immediately start preparing for an Iranian response to an attack.

Anybody thinking this is starting to play out now?

3. And I thought just maybe
with the election outcome and all, we could begin to put an end to these years of war, media propaganda, and restore the people's rights. Dang this crap sucks.

7. my old friend used to say that good always leaves, and bad comes to stay
there are always going to be those influences that would lead us to violence or some oppression designed to suit their own ambitions for greed or power. Our new majority will have to stay as committed to their cause as their opposition is to their own. It's daunting, but it will take a lifetime of commitment from us, and from generations to come, as well.

4. On every count
ALL of those "musts" are already failures and already shoved aside in the mere issue of continuance. Which leads the the last "must". the attack on iran must be successful. What in the addled unprofessional mind of this idiot makes him even think that one can accept ANY of the premises except as wishful thinking including the a priori "necessity" of butchering Iran? As far as any sane person can tell from the shopping list gleaned from Dr. Strangelove and Tinkerbell not one piece of reasoning by this authority can be taken seriously.

Some of ALL of these things are happening, idiot, as are some, not all of the military strategies that can be effective in dreamworld. They will never even approach the dramatic falling of the Iraq sell, but Bush blunders on anyway.

Which leaves two words. "Political Impossibility". That is an absolute judgment vacated by two things. A veneer of all these politically strategic things, now utterly mired themselves beyond any further movement toward the president and the 'success" of the ploy part 2. And the insane, self-serving determination of Bush/Cheney, a two headed monster with no brains.

We pay the military to act and plan decisively. Stepping into the political strategy is like watching a clown dance onto quicksand.

There is NO brilliant strategy ever that can't be ruined by dolts such as our leadership- and reality. There is nothing brilliant about pre or post disaster advice that is simply impossible, sealed with extreme prejudice by Coocoo in chief. Success will never grow, only stupidity, folly and failure.

5. Note that Neo-con Zionists like him want to turn to Hilary and that they really are secret bed
partners of Saudi Arabia....You almost understand why the Wahabi (sp?) opponents of the Saudi Royal Family want to depose them. Can you imagine if most of Saudi Arabia's population knew that their Saudi Royal family was in bed with not just Bush but also Israel???

I read an opinion like this by an Israeli Military person and I think that if his opinion is the prevailing thought amongst the decision makers in the Israeli gov't, similar to the Bush Administrationa and the Neo-cons, and I realize that war mongerers like this are determined to bring on a disasterous war.

Yes, to answer your question, I do think that this is all playing out right now....it might also be so far along that it can't be stopped. That is what I fear the most.

6. These people need to be treated the same way as terrorists
If caught in the US they should be deported. If caught lobbying for wars, they get to see the inside of Gitmo... for a long time.

8. What kind of "event" could they plan
That would catapult the US into deeper involvement I wonder.
