1. (Debates with self if flippant question deserves answer...)
Yeah, it's surprising in light of this usually not happening, and it's notable for the US backing one side that doesn't want to be seen to have US backing, that despite that backing, seems to be achieving nothing more than a standstill.

But hey, if the details don't bother you, don't let my reply bother you either.

2. US seeks 86 million dollars in military aid to Fatah
"Last month, Egypt, with Israel's consent, sent a large quantity of automatic weapons and ammunition to Abbas loyalist forces and Washington has been pressing the Jewish state to allow a Jordan-based Palestinian militia linked to Fatah deploy in the Gaza Strip, a Hamas stronghold.

Rice has been seeking ways to strengthen Abbas and his secular Fatah party in an increasingly violent power struggle with the radical Islamic movement Hamas."

3. That's a mighty sweeping use of the *terrorist* label...
The terrorists kill each other. Surprising?

Since when has being a member of Fatah equalled being a terrorist? Or is any Palestinian that has a gun considered to be a terrorist?

btw, not only are factional groups killing each other, they're also killing innocent civilians...
