"After inspecting photographs of men, women and children maimed and shredded by violence in Israel, about 150 people at a Weston synagogue heard one man's answer to end it.
''The goal is getting the Palestinians to give up,'' scholar and columnist Daniel Pipes told the crowd Sunday night.
Pipes, who heads a think tank called the Middle East Forum in Philadelphia, spoke to an audience at Temple Dor Dorim in Weston about his solution for preventing more victims of violence in Israel. Pipes is a columnist for The New York Sun and holds a doctorate in history from Harvard.
He said Israel shouldn't make any concessions to Palestinian Arabs, nor hold out what he considers a vain hope for a Palestinian state. Israel must convince the Palestinians that their quest for an independent homeland is futile, he said."

"The goal is not some pretty little paper. The goal is not resolution. ... It is necessary to hone our policies so they are dedicated to getting the Palestinians to give up."
