Okay, this is one weird article. Or at least it seems so to me, maybe because I'm not that familiar with this whole topic, nor do I know anything about this source. So hopefully someone more informed can shed some light on this development. It's certainly the first I've heard of this person or about plans to replace Olmert:

3. Sure seems like Intelligence people are claiming alot of leadership positions

Here in the U.S. we have the Bush family cabal. Russia has Putin. And now Israel may get an ex-spy, and who knows who else.

So who do they work for? Certainly not us.

4. Is the information inaccurate?

I went to Wikepedia as a second source and it seems to back up the info in the article.

BTW - it isn't difficult to tell the bias of that first Canadian source. Very pro-Likud apparently.

5. Some of it may be. For example, she may very well have been involved in the illegal kidnapping

of Mordechai Vanunu.

She may also be a popular politician.

It is interesting that according to the wikipedia article she does differentiate between the attacks on soldiers in the IDF by Palestinians, (not terrorism) and attacks on civilians (which is terrorism and condemned by international law) .

6. Well Israel desperately needs a more soft-edged right winger to replace Olmert

From what I've read the Likud is not a terribly popular group with many Israelis. So it seems the party is trying to select someone who seems more in the center in power. Very similar to this country it would seem.

I'm guessing, for those here that are unfamiliar with her name (thank you MSM!), that we'll be hearing her name alot more if she does take Olmert's place.
