Israel frees Marwan Barghouti's son
Israel has released the eldest son of jailed Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti on bail after 39 months.

Qassam Barghouti, a student, was arrested in December 2003 after crossing from Jordan into the occupied West Bank.

Israeli security officials accused him of complicity in Palestinian attacks, a charge his lawyer denied.

An Israeli military spokesman said Barghouti was freed after being convicted of membership of a prohibited group and serving out his sentence.
