Israel to strike enemies "anywhere"

Bolstered by United States support, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said he would not hesitate to attack Israel's enemies anywhere - heightening concerns that Israel may widen the conflict with Palestinian militants by again attacking nations it accuses of harbouring terrorists.

Syria's president said that Sunday's airstrike by Israel would only enhance his country's power in the Middle East.

The bombing of a training base reportedly used by the militant Islamic Jihad group was the first major Israeli attack on Syrian soil in three decades.

Sharon's comments implied that his government was considering employing such raids as a new way to retaliate against terrorist attacks.

"Israel will not be deterred from protecting its citizens, and will strike its enemies in every place and in every way," Sharon said.

Perhaps if Israel is going to keep playing the vigalante that they've been known to play all these years by pretending to be Canadians in other countries to assassinate suspects and now by bombing any country that they damn well want to under the accusation (not proof, just an accusation) of terrorism, then perhaps countries should get together and use almost any means necessary to stop that country. Yeah, that's right. Terrorists beware. That includes Israeli terrorists too.

18. I would love to see those of you who support such acts to go read

some unbiased accounts of Israeli actions such as the Qana Massacre that occured on a UN compound in S Lebanon. Or better yet go to the Amnesty web page and read some reports, I've read them all except 2000 because curiously enough it never seems to come up.
I think this statement by Israel means they're about to assassinate Arafat.
To me the terrorist who kill innocent civilians and the Israeli government who kill innocent civilians are one and the same.
Until both extremist groups are out of power, there will be no peace for Israel.
Did you know in 98 a group of ultra orthodox Jewish Israelis were viciously beaten by Israeli troops for protesting a construction plan that they felt would desecrate Jewish graves within the area?
