Mofaz approves limited reserve call-up due to terror alerts

Something is up, I'm betting on Gaza and Hamas.
The whole Syria thing is misdirection.

The final decision on a limited call-up of Israel
Defense Forces reserve soldiers will be made
Wednesday, due to the large number of terror
alerts and the urgent need to tighten security
along the seam-line boundary with the West
Bank.

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, who approved
the measure Tuesday, told senior army and Shin
Bet security service officers that their top priority
now is to prevent a terror attack during the
Sukkot holiday, and to contribute to that effort he
was allowing the army a limited reserve call-up
on the basis of emergency orders.

Some weeks ago the security cabinet approved
a special budget for the army for just such an
emergency purpose.

The battalions designated for the emergency
mobilization have not been called up yet this
year. If they are called into service, they will be
mobilized before the Sukkot holiday.

30,000 or so troops apparently. Full invasion of Gaza, scheduled after the Jewish holidays.

wait until after the "separation wall" was completed.
I was just trying to make sense of the Syria bullshit
going on, and then I saw this callup and figured they
decided not to wait, since the wall didn't work anyway,
and the Syria and Lebanon stuff is just to "explain" the
callup and other preparations. Time will tell.
