Israel urged to target Hamas chiefs

A senior Israeli politician has urged the government to assassinate Hamas political leaders, in response to a suicide bombing attack in the southern Israeli town of Dimona.

Tzachi Hanegbi, chairman of parliament's foreign affairs and defence committee, said on Monday that the bombing marked a change in policy by Hamas which required a response.

"Because of this , the Israeli government should also change its policy and we should no longer allow Hamas's leadership to enjoy immunity," Hanegbi told Israeli Radio.

"There is no difference between those who wear a suicide suit and a diplomat's suit," he said.
