WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has added Web sites to its list of "foreign terrorist organizations" for the first time, under the category of aliases for conventional groups, a State Department official said on Friday.

A list published in the Federal Register includes newkach.org, kahane.org, kahane.net, kahanetzadak.com as aliases for the Jewish group Kahane Chai or Kach, which is suspected of organizing attacks on Palestinians.

Under U.S. law, it would be illegal to provide money or other material support to the designated Web sites, the people who run them could be denied U.S. visas and U.S. banks must block their funds. The State Department said it was yet clear how this would work in practice.

But the law may not enable the United States to block access to the Web sites, if only for technical reasons.

I don't know whether to be happy because we're censoring Israeli shenanigans or scared about how far they take it - I'd sure hate to see DemocraticUnderground.com on the list.

I've visited those web-sites and they're absolutely vile.

Half the posts there are about annihilating the Palestinians, the others are about what thieves they are to have pre-emptively settled on their own land.

It's a start but there are many more to go such as www.masada2000.com which delights in posting personal information about self-hating Jews and other enemies of Israel who need to be "shut up". These were the guys who published the names, ages, and school routes of Rabbi Lerner's children as well as his home address and phone number.

A true hero too it seems. Founder of the JDL (Jewish Defense League) and the Chaya Squad that walked around terrorizing people who posed a danger, in thought, word, or deed to the glorious settler visions of reclaiming all of Palestine.

After emigrating to Israel, he formed the Kach movement.

Rabbi Kahane was elected to Knesset in 1984. He headed the quickest growing party in Israel's history. Polls predicted him receiving as many as 12 seats in the 1988 elections. If he would not have been banned from participating in the elections he would have turned in to the third largest party in Israel, on the way to becoming its next Prime Minister. The Likud and Labor parties joined together and banned Kahane from the 1988 elections in order to assure their own survival.

Two years later, Rabbi Kahane was murdered by an Arab terrorist El Sayyid Nosair. Nosair was acquitted of murder by a New York jury but was later found guilty in federal court of violating Rabbi Kahane's civil rights. Nosair also was given life imprisonment for his role in the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City.

Never in Israel's history was there a bigger funeral.

All this time I really believed that line about a "few" kooks. A few thousand ok but 250,000?!!!!!
