Israel dismisses arrests in Gaza bombing as imaginary
Israeli security sources Thursday dismissed arrests
made by Palestinian police in connection with the
deadly roadside bombing of a United States
diplomatic convoy in Gaza the day before, Army
Radio reported.

<snip>
But Israel rejected the claim, the radio said,
maintaining that the arrests were an imaginary
measure designed to placate the U.S., and that
there was no evidence to link the three to the
attack.
<snip>

The group denied involvement in the attack, but
confirmed the arrests of three of its members,
one of whom was identified as Ahmed Saker, 25.

"We made clear to the Palestinian Authority we
had nothing to do with the bombing. We were
stunned by the unjustified arrests," a leader
of the movement.

Two more members of the group were being sought,
the PA security sources said.

I thought this to be the case as well.

2. It's as though
they knew it all along. This is obvious. The arrests came too quickly, and no investigation could have preceeded. It's a mockery.

4. I wonder
If they don't do anything they scream, and when they arrest people they scream. One wonders what all would the Palestinians have to do to please certain people. Move out entirely from their homes into Jordan preferably and let Israelis occupy the rest od the 22% of the original land they haven't yet? :eyes:

5. Extreme reaction
No scream was heard from here. Just a dismissal. Do we have to kowtow to everything Arafat says like folks here?

6. Well, unless the PA arrested Mossad or CIA people, Israel is right

I assume that desperately brownnose PA lamebrain thought that it would somehow impress the bush regime if they arrested somebody, not unlike the famous ISI $50 a pop "Al Qaeda" rounddup over in Pashtunistan.

Apparently tail-swallowing is spreading fast.
