Hebron evacuation completed within hour

VIDEO - Security forces stormed the disputed Hebron house on Thursday and completed its evacuation within less than an hour after taking settlers totally be surprise.

Heavy clashes ensued throughout the operation and the Magen David Adom emergency services reported that 20 people were lightly injured during the evacuation. Anotehr two people sustained moderate injuries and were evacuated to hospital.

A policeman was moderately hurt in the eyes from acid poured on him during the evacuation He was evacuated to a Jerusalem hospital as well.

1. Israel completes forcible evacuation of disputed Hebron house

"Israeli security forces stormed a disputed house in the West Bank city of Hebron on Thursday, dragging out some 250 settlers who barricaded themselves inside and hurled rocks, eggs and chemicals at their evictors.

The Zaka rescue service said 20 people on both sides were hurt. The operation came about three weeks after the High Court had ordered the state to evacuate the building immediately.

A police officer was moderately hurt when settlers threw acid at his face. One of the settlers sustained serious head wounds, and he was whisked into an ambulance on a stretcher.

It was the first major West Bank evacuation since a violent 2006 confrontation at the outpost of Amona. Settlers attempted to go back into the four-story structure, but soldiers formed a human chain around the house to keep them from doing so.

Israel Defense Forces spokeswoman Maj. Avital Leibovitz said the evacuation of the house, one of the most volatile flashpoints in the West Bank, was completed in about 20 minutes."

"Shortly after the swift evacuation of the disputed house in the city of Hebron, clashes moved to other areas in the West Bank. Riots have already been registered near Qalqilya, Hebron and Ramallah.

Sources in the settler public announced the launching of a "price tag" policy that will be implemented through stone throwing and attacks on Palestinian houses.
