Israel May Win in Gaza, Hamas Won't Lose and Moderate Arab Leaders and Obama Will Worry
Israel may win this war, but Hamas is not going to lose it.

They will suffer great losses, but once this is over, just as Israelis will support their newly elected prime minister, Gaza's 1.5 million Palestinians will also rally around Hamas, their democratically elected government -- and many Arabs will too.

The losers will be the Palestinians people themselves and moderate Arab governments whose leaders are facing domestic opposition to renounce relations with Israel and condemn their attacks.

As Palestinians living in Gaza fear the next Israeli attack, moderate Arab governments fear the fallout of this impolitic war will make fragile regional relationships all the more vulnerable.

1. The moderate Arab governments don't want the Hamas/Hezbollah./Ij/Muslim Brotherhoods
kind of terrorism wreaking havoc in their own countries.

Hamas is as much a danger to regional stability as Iran.

Everyone loses with regimes like Hamas, and no one should be cheering them on.

2. Hamas will declare "victory" after this is over
Hezbollah did the same thing once the conflict with Lebanon ended.

The narrative became: The brave Hezbollah fighters stood up to and defeated mighty Israel.

A similar narrative will be developed around Hamas.

4. victory for them is just survival
they survive and live to fight another day, it's victory to them.

I'm waiting for Hamas and their cronies to invent the next Qana or Jenin "massacre". Get that out to the media and rely on Pallywood to save them from destruction.

5. Their idea of victory is so pathetic
millions of people suffer, and that is a victory?

It's a victory to provoke war and have innocent people die?

3. Hamas needs to lose
they only bring misery to everyone in the region, moreso to Palestinians. I can't see how it's possible for anyone pro-Palestinian to not support the absolute destruction of Hamas.

6. Israel is the one raining death and destruction on Palestinians
and that will help Hamas. Israel's response to Hamas' rocket attacks is disproportionate to what Hamas militants are doing. Israel kills 4 to 5 times more Palestinians than than Hamas kills Israelis.

Also Hamas, like the I.R.A., is a political organization. If the British and Protestants could negotiate with the I.R.A., Israel can negotiate with Hamas.
