Translation: Israel's harsh measures against demonstrators and objectors

Translation: They are a minority, but their number is growing: Israeli conscientious objectors make mobile against the military attacks in the Gaza Strip. The government responded with a hardness of demonstrators are arrested, objectors land in prison.

8. I think you might be misunderstanding this.
Protesting is not a crime in Israel. Conscientious objecting is though. I could be wrong but it seems like these people were arrested for not responding when they were called up to do reserve service.

They held the protest with the understanding that they would be arrested and draw media attention to the political statement they are making. And in Israel, conscientious onjecting is a pretty serious comment on the level of these protesters' commitment to their cause.

3. In Israel, there is compulsory military service
And there is a growing group of conscientious objectors who do not want to fight in an army that illegally occupies territories. They are called Shministim

Chickenhawks! It's Chickenhawks I'm talking about.
Your profile would seem to indicate you are safely thousands of miles
away from both the heat of battle and the prisons holding those whose conscience dictates they persue non-violent options.
