Afghans sign up to fight Israeli troops in Gaza

KABUL (Reuters) - More than a thousand Afghans signed up on Thursday to say they wanted to go and fight Israel in the Gaza Strip, many of them blaming the United States which has some 30,000 troops in Afghanistan, for supporting the Jewish state.

Accusations by Taliban militants and some Muslim clerics that Israel and its main ally, the United States, aim to destroy Islam have a strong impact on public opinion in Afghanistan, where Washington plans to almost double its troop numbers this year.

Scores of young men crowded into the library of Kabul's Milad ul-Nabi mosque, lined with banners reading "Death to Israel" and "Death to America," to sign up to fight Israel.

"More than a thousand brave Afghans registered their names here to fight Israeli troops in Gaza," said Habibullah Assam, the imam of the mosque and organizer of the campaign.

I would think that even Obama is going realise that the Russians finally used to common sense and get out of the mess known as Afghanistan.

And that's before what can fairly be called "Obama's surge."

And that's before the Afghans got even more pissed off with our support of Israel as their fellow Muslims are being massacred.

America and Israel, killing Muslims from Palestine to Pakistan. That's how a lot of them see it, and it's kinda hard to argue with that perspective.

Then again, once they arrive, how long until they get mugged in Gaza city ?

6. It could well mean an escalation in Afghanistan

but that has been going on regardless as the Taliban has "come back to life" and why Obama is increasing troops there, but for Israel it probably means little and is nothing more than show such sign up are going on all over the Muslim world just as they did in 2006 not much if anything came of it then and I doubt much will come of it now.

Thats why they don't like females going to school and getting an education in that part of the "cultured" world.
Educated women are far more resistant to giving up thier children to fight something the holy men call 'jihad'.

and women or mothers do not have total restraint over what their children do anywhere

15. They've got enough to see out

at least the next thirty years or so. Its also worth remembering that apparently if children in a constant war environment reach the age of 10 without developing a fear of death they are unlikely to develop that fear later in life. That became apparent in both Vietnam and Ireland.

They've also got the reserves in Pakistan to call up so don't hold your breath with regard to their supply running out.
