Elections 2009 / Poll reveals: The game is not over yet

Less than a week ahead of the February 10 elections, Kadima has dramatically narrowed the gap between itself and chief rival Likud, a recent poll suggests.

The poll, conducted by the Maagar Mohot Survey Institute and made public on Channel 2 Wednesday, reveals that Kadima is now only 3 Knesset seats away from Likud's 26 seats. It appears that since the last Channel 2 poll, Likud has lost 6 seats.

Going down to the wire - as predicted!

1. Why are the Israeli polls all over the place?

The US election polls had few discrepencies, yet our Israeli counterparts seem to have Zogby polling for them...

Almost 2,000 participants for what that's worth!

But Labor is a lost cause at this point, so I may as well cheer for Tzipi.

4. With regards to the I/P conflict

The major difference between Kadima and Likud seems be that Kadima says one thing and does another and Likud is at least honest about its intentions in any event the outcome for Palestinians is the same but Kadima plays the political game better

IMO neither is going to attack Iran the cost to Israel would be too great.

6. Likud's been a lot more contradictory than Kadima over the years

Granted, Kadima is a relatively new political party, but if any party can be accused of saying one thing and doing something else it would be Likud.

Hopefully they won't get the chance this time!
