Gaddafi: Israel, not Sudan, to blame for crisis in Darfur
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, the current African Union president, on Tuesday accused "foreign forces" including Israel of being behind the Darfur conflict.

Judges from the International Criminal Court are due to announce on March 4 whether they will issue a warrant for the arrest of Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir over allegations that he masterminded genocide in Sudan's Darfur region. UN diplomats have told Reuters the warrant will be issued.

But Gaddafi, addressing a meeting on ways to expand cooperation between the United Nations and African Union, urged the Court to stop its proceedings against Bashir:

"Why do we have to hold President Bashir or the Sudanese government responsible when the Darfur problem was caused by outside parties, and Tel Aviv , for example, is behind the Darfur crisis?"

I believe Libya is one of the countries chairing the Durban II Conference against Racism.

7. So it´s the "White man´s burden"?
I wonder, why nobody calls you out on this.
Do I smell a little racism?

8. Africa was left dysfunctional by colonialism.
It was a disease given to them by European colonialists.

But, the fact remains that the African Union's elected leader chooses to blame an African-on-African genocide on da Jooz.

Just like they circled the wagons around Mugabe.

There are some African states that are self-governing, but as a region they are incapable of constructive collective action.

10. Doesn't matter who is chairing it honestly

You knew it would be heavy criticism directed toward Israel.

That being said, there is more than enough substantiated criticism of Israel to be found than this nonsensical conjecture.

11. Might be tempered by a more rational voice at the head
Libya seems an especially bad choice.

12. Given Qaddafi's checkered past,
And "checkered" is putting it nicely, I would say you are unequivocally correct.

13. Agreed - especially given Gaddafi's own human rights record, etc.
