'Hamas leader is brain behind Dutch flotilla'
Hamas leader from Holland Amin Abu Rashid has been seen in recent days training with a Gaza-bound flotilla crew in Greece, according to a report by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf on Thursday.

Rashid, described as the "brain" behind the flotilla, helped arrange the purchasing of the Dutch boat expected to be used in the expedition, De Telegraaf reported.

Rashid also allegedly organized the majority of the funding for the flotilla, the report said.

10. So every single participant in the flotilla is a "bigot?"
Medea Benjamin? Alice Walker? Ray McGovern?

11. Think the "good guys" on the boat will ever speak out against the bigots there? They didn't...
Edited on Thu Jun-30-11 02:49 PM by shira
....last year and there's no reason to suspect they will this year.

What do you think that makes them, if not bigots?

Would you gladly demonstrate side by side with outspoken KKK members, refrain from criticizing their views, and tell others they're really peace activists on a humanitarian mission?

12. By that twisted logic, every single (D) Senator is a bigot.
After all, did they not willing serve in the same Congress as Strom Thurmond? Did they not willingly vote "aye" or "nay" on bills where he voted the same way?

And is not every single (D) politician who has shared a stage with Richard Nixon also a bigot? They certainly could have stopped whatever ceremonial event was occurring to lambaste Nixon's anti-Semitism, couldn't they?

:freak:

Oh, but I suppose guilt-by-association only works when it's convenient for you to libel Liberal heroes as bigots, right?

:eyes:

What a pathetic display.

13. Not the same. Would you protest in a KKK sponsored event alongside KKK members...
Edited on Thu Jun-30-11 04:24 PM by shira
...and then praise them as liberal, humanitarian heroes?

20. "Not the same" -- in what way, exactly?
I'm sorry, but simply saying "nuh-UH" isn't an argument.

24. So you would protest & celebrate in a KKK sponsored rally alongside KKK members...
Edited on Fri Jul-01-11 05:27 AM by shira
...and hype the event up before, during, and afterwards - as well as all the people involved - as peaceful humanitarian liberal heroes?

You'd have no problem doing that?

25. Is this a broken record? Am I talking to an Eliza program?
You haven't explained how they're "not the same."

But to save time, since you're likely to natter on out of turn until answered, OF FUCKING COURSE I WOULDN'T join in a KKK rally.

Where the fuck do you get off asking a question like that?

26. So since you wouldn't do it, why do you think it's okay for the Free Gaza folks...
...to participate in a Hamas sponsored event and portray it before, during, and after as a great liberal cause - and the Hamasniks participating in it as great humanitarians?

2. He was involved in the flotilla last time
From last year:

Senior intelligence officials are enraged over the two men's release and are calling for a thorough investigation. "(Kidnapped soldier) Gilad Shalit is in captivity," one of the officials said, "and we are letting this asset go."

Amin Abu-Rashid, 43, a Holland national of Palestinian descent who lives in Rotterdam, is nicknamed "Amin Abu-Ibrahim" by Hamas members. The Israeli intelligence considers him one of the leaders of the Palestinian movement's fundraising system and the chief Hamas fundraiser in Western Europe.

According to the organization's publications, he lost his hand "in the struggle against the occupation", although this detail could not be verified in any photos. He had close ties with Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, the senior Hamas commander who was assassinated in Dubai, and according to intelligence material, his role in Hamas was to find ways to smuggle money to the organization's groups in Gaza and particularly in the West Bank.
