10 rockets strike Israel day after coordinated terror attacks kill 8
At least 7 wounded as Palestinians fire Grad, Qassam missiles at Israel the day after a terrorist attack near Eilat and an IAF counter-attack on Gaza.

Less than a day after coordinated terror attacks killed eight Israelis, Palestinian attacks on Israel continue as 10 Grad and Qasasm rockets were fired Friday morning at Ashkelon, Be'er Sheva and Kiryat Gat.

Most of the rockets fell in open areas and did not cause damage or injuries, but one of the missiles hit a building in an Ashdod industrial park, wounding six people, one of them seriously. Three Qassam rockets were shot at the western Negev communities overnight. Emergency sirens were sounded, but no injuries or damage were reported.

Large contingents of police forces arrived at the scene of the rocket attacks and are on alert for additional missiles. Residents are called to remain in close proximity to bomb shelters.

2. this is one of the most saddening depressing things to happen in the region in a long time
who ever is responsible wants to kill any chance for a Palestinian state along with any number of Palestinians and Israelis
I have no idea what group is behind this, Hamas is an easy answer but this is extreme even for them
2 days ago there was hope now it seems gone
I don't know how else to express this but shit just shit

6. I would put my money on a splinter group funded by Iran
Iran wants another ME conflict to distract from Syria. They need a smokescreen to allow Syria to brutally smash the pro-democracy demonstrators while no one is paying close attention - Lets get those TV cameras pointed at someone else.

9. what leads you to say that? Hamas record certainly doesn't suggest that this is too extreme
for them. not saying they did this, but nothing in their record suggests that such actions are too extreme for them to commit.

13. How does an Israeli paper saying it was a group called PRC lead you to conclude that the actions
would be extreme for Hamas. It makes no sense.

10. wow I say the happening over the last 2 days are depressing and saddening
Edited on Fri Aug-19-11 11:50 PM by azurnoir
but apparently many who I had thought were ProIsrael here would seem to disagree with that it baffles me it really does as Israelis died

and as to Hamas perhaps they are responsible but Israeli papers are claiming a group called PRC. so what are they protecting Hamas or is that all Arab groups are the same, albeit in last few hours the Hamas Armed Wing has called off a supposed cease fire with Israel so at from that point Hamas can be blamed

12. The People's Rsistance Committees
are a separate group, but they have links to Hamas and other organizations (IIRC some of their commanders are both PRC and Hamas members).

14. Even if we ignore that the PRC is an umbrella group of terrorists from many of the jihadi groups
including Hamas. The bottom line is that Hamas is the government of Gaza so it is responsible for all attacks eminating from Gaza whether by Hamas or some other Gaza group.
