1. Interesting that they take time from their financial crisis with this.
The other thing in the Mid East of interest to Spain is this :

Report: Spain offered Syria's Assad asylum

2. The Israelis, you mean?
At a time of unprecedented public outcry over poverty, the cost of living, the price of housing, and concerns over the still-large Israeli public debt, you're surprised that they would take time out to lecture the Spanish ambassador over his position that the Palestinians should have a seat in the UN General Assembly?

I quite agree, but its refreshing that you should say so.

8. It was the banks that caused it, not the governments themselves
btw, governments that bring in austerity budgets are almost never pro-LGBT.

10. Your relentlessly hostility to social democratic governments
and your clear preference for right-wing economics(which are the only possible reasons you'd blame the government of Spain, Greece and Portugal, rather than the banking institutions that actually caused the European crisis).

14. Why is it offensive?
Edited on Tue Aug-23-11 10:32 PM by Ken Burch
I sad "banking institutions". That wasn't offensive. Especially since those institutions are actually controlled exclusively by Christians.

My comment was simply about class. And you know it.

It was far more offensive that you used the term "PIGS countries" as if the financial collapse in Europe was caused by the greed of those who live in those countries or that of those governments themselves. You insulted those countries for no reason.

6. I hope they made him sit on the little seat...
Sitting on a big seat while finger-wagging at foreign diplomats really gets those points on the diplomacy scorecard!
