Report: Hamas leaders underground in fear of Israeli attack

By JPOST.COM STAFF

Hamas security and political officials have descended to underground tunnels in the fear that Israel may try to attack them, according to an Al-Quds Al-Arabi report cited by Israel Radio.

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and senior official Mahmoud Zahar are now operating with restricted movement within the Gaza Strip, according to Hamas sources quoted in the report.

According to the report, Hamas sources said that the organization is still interested in a ceasefire.

1. After the way the Hamas cadre was decimated in OCL,their fears could well be justified
During OCL, the IDF were clearly operating with a great deal of insider information on the locations of key people and material. As a result there were heavy losses of both. Hamas has yet to recover from those losses and the survivors are even more concerned about being targeted.

2. I can't imagine why they would be so nervous.
Is it possible they might have murdered some people, perhaps on a bus?

4. They Are Well Advised To Do So, Sir
Though tunnels may not be that good a refuge; if the locations are known, collapsing them is readily done from the air.
