Thin, pale but unhurt, a soldier finally returns home
LOOKING thin and pale but otherwise healthy, Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit walked to freedom yesterday at the border between Gaza and Egypt.

Last night Egyptian television broadcast the first images of Sergeant Shalit being released. He said: ''Hamas treated me well.''

He struggled visibly when he was asked about the thousands of Palestinian prisoners still in Israeli jails and would he campaign for their release?
