Palestinian militants fire at IDF forces near Gaza border

Palestinian militants fired at Israeli security forces near Gaza on Thursday and Israel Defense Forces retaliated by firing at the source of the shooting.

Israeli security forces were doing routine work on the border fence near the area of Kibbutz Zikim in the northern Gaza Strip when Palestinian militants fired at them. There were no casualties but damage was done to one of the IDF vehicles.

IDF forces responded with a ground attack and fired at the source of the shooting.

The most recent rocket attack on southern Israel occurred on Tuesday evening, after a recent escalation between Gaza militants and IDF forces. Some 30 rockets were shot toward Israel last week, resulting in the death of one Israeli and wounding four others.
