US Losing War on Terror against Hizbullah in Lebanon
Hizbullah’s capture of American spies has severely crippled the U.S. war on the terror group that is responsible for more American casualties than any other group in the past 10 years.

Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah this summer proudly stated that the terrorist organization and political party caught at least two American spies who had infiltrated into Hizbullah. American media reported Monday that Hizbullah has nabbed a dozen spies, whose fate is unknown.

The damage to intelligence has been especially high, according to current and former officials interviewed by the Associated Press. Officials said that one of the reasons has been the Bush and Obama administrations’ rush to kill terrorist leaders, taking the emphasis off of spy networks.

One deadly result was the killing of seven CIA workers and the wounding of six others in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan two years ago. The terrorist had posed as in informant.

2. Hizbullah Kills More Americans Than Any Other Group?
In the last 10 years? You sure that is correct?

3. I know that Hizbullah killed more Americans prior to 9/11
Interesting though. I did not think that they were as prolific with their terrorism after Israel dealt with them in Lebanon a few years back. I will have to look this up.

4. Don't bother us with facts, we are busy catapulting the propaganda.
Hezbollah's one real claim to being big-time American killers is the Beirut bombings in the early 80s, which was before Hezbollah in it's present form existed, but they tend to be given "credit" for it anyway.

5. CIA forced to curb spying in Lebanon
Edited on Tue Nov-22-11 12:38 PM by bemildred
Reporting from Washington—
The CIA was forced to curtail its spying in Lebanon, where U.S. operatives and their agents collect crucial intelligence on Syria, terrorist groups and other targets, after the arrests of several CIA informants in Beirut this year, according to U.S. officials and other sources.

"Beirut station is out of business," a source said, using the CIA term for its post there. The same source, who declined to be identified while speaking about a classified matter, alleged that up to a dozen CIA informants have been compromised, but U.S. officials disputed that figure.

U.S. officials acknowledged that some CIA operations were suspended in Beirut last summer. It's unclear whether full operations have resumed. Beirut is considered a key watching post for turmoil in the Middle East.

Senior CIA officials have briefed congressional staffers about the breach, and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, visited Beirut recently to interview CIA officers. Committee staff members want to determine whether CIA operatives used sloppy practices that revealed sensitive sources and methods.

I do wonder why we are being told about this, usually one would not have a lot of coverage of spook-failures.

Edit: it is interesting to note also the the cell-phone records trick was used extensively by the Hariri Tribunal.
