IDF court convicts second Palestinian man for Fogel murders

An Israeli Defense Forces court convicted Monday a Palestinian man of the murder of five members of the Fogel family in an attack on their home in the Itamar settlement earlier this year.

The Fogel family members were brutally stabbed to death in their home in the West Bank settlement of Itamar on the night of March 11, 2011. The murderers killed Ehud and Ruth Fogel, along with three of their young child-ren, Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and Hadas, 3 months old, before fleeing the scene.

In October, the Shomron Military Court sentenced one of the men convicted of the murder of the Fogel family in the West Bank settlement of Itamar, Hakim Awad, with five consecutive life sentences.

Awad, an 18-year-old from the nearby village of Awarta, also sentenced to an additional five years in prison.
