IDF Humanity on the Border
http://www.thejc.com/blogs/advis3r/idf-humanity-border

this is just for those who are actually are interested in learning about the IDF.....and for those who no doubt will claim its merely a story, and my word will obviously mean very little, but i can vouch for his experiences from personal and first hand reports.....

the character difference between a liberal society vs the "the other".....

In the course of the past few nights, I have witnessed much. At 9:00 PM last night, the first reports came in of gunfire heard from the Egyptian border. Minutes later, IDF scouts spotted small groups of people trying to get across the fence. In the period of about one hour, we picked up 13 men - cold, barefoot, dehydrated - some wearing nothing except underpants. Their bodies were covered with lacerations and other wounds. We gathered them in a room, gave them blankets, tea and treated their wounds. I don’t speak a word of their language, but the look on their faces said it all and reminded me once again why I am so proud to be a Jew and an Israeli. Sadly, it was later determined that the gunshots we heard were deadly, killing three others fleeing for their lives.

Israel's 'hot return' of Sudan refugees prompts UN concern

The Supreme Court is currently discussing a case that concerns Israel's practice of immediately returning asylum seekers who cross from Egypt into Israel back across the border

Hot return: High Court delivers decision

On July 7, 2011 the High Court of Justice delivered its judgement and rejected a petition filed by a group of human rights organizations against the state regarding the "hot return" procedure. This policy allows the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) to return asylum seekers to Egypt after crossing the border into Israel provided 24 hours have not passed and they have not traveled more than 50 kms from the border.

It is worth noting that Egypt has around 4 million Sudanese emigres in its territory. Australia has granted permanent asylum to over 20,000 Sudanese refugees. Israel has granted asylum to several hundred.
