Israeli aircraft attacked terror cells in two separate locations in north Gaza overnight Wednesday. Palestinian sources said one of the cells, which belonged to Islamic Jihad's armed wing, was holed up in a building in Gaza City's Zeitun neighborhood, not far from the border fence separating Israel from the Hamas-ruled territory.
According to the sources, one cell member was killed and two others were wounded – one of them seriously – in the strike.
Earlier, Palestinian sources claimed IDF forces entered the area in which the aerial strike took place. The activity was apparently aimed at unearthing any explosive devices placed by terrorists. It is possible that one of the terror cells planned to target the IDF forces that had entered Palestinian territory.
About three weeks ago Israeli aircraft bombed a building in north Gaza in response to a rocket attack on the Negev region. Palestinian sources said one person was killed and four others were injured in the strike.
