Three Israelis killed in suicide bombing east of Tel Aviv
IDF clamps full closure on territories after suicide attack

By Roni Singer and Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondents, Haaretz Service and Agencies

Three Israelis were killed Thursday evening and about 16 people were wounded, two seriously and two moderately, in a suicide bombing near several bus stops east of Tel Aviv.

The Israel Defense Forces imposed a full closure on the territories following the attack.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility in a call to The Associated Press.

Police were chasing two people seen fleeing the bomb site, and issued a high security alert in the area.

6. Bull
Please show what Israeli attack targeting innocent civilians this is the "tat" for.

There, of course, isn't one but isn't it conforting to not have to think about actual guilt.

7. Israeli soldiers target innocent civilians all the time
they murdered a kid holding a piece of bread recently, as one example.

9. As usual you didn't bother answering
I said "what Israeli attack targeting innocent civilians this is the "tat" for."

Of course, you can't find one. It doesn't happen.

8. Meaningless
"Please show what Israeli attack targeting innocent civilians this is the "tat" for."

I can only assume that people who -- regardless of which side they are on -- have no life.

What motivates some stupid schmuck off his couch to post some meaningless bullshit like this?

You sit around and compare one newspaper article to another, until the end of time and none of it means anything.

The only thing that means anything is this:

"Kill the colonial state, make them leave, force them to withdraw, regardless of the human cost."

Israel will be a normal state, with international borders, in compliance with international law, or Israel will not exist.

It's that simple, over time.

10. I'll say it in small words for you
Edited on Sun Dec-28-03 10:40 PM by MikeGalos
There is a difference between any time a person dies and a planned murder.

If somebody tries to kill you - and just you - and it isn't an accident - and they do it - it is murder.

If somebody does not try to kill you and you die anyway, it isn't.

See the difference?

Didn't think so. Oh well. I tried.

drunk or say Timmy Mcterrorist lives in your Apartment
building and I fly over in my F-16, fire a missile to
kill Timmy, but I kill you and your loved ones, some fool
might say I was reckless, but your dead and I was fighting
terrorism, so no big deal :eyes:

14. I've heard of it
and it is, first off, not murder and secondly requires a burden of proof of criminal negligence.

5. Number dead
The number of Israelis killed in the attack has risen to four. Two women soldiers (both 19), one on her way home on leave, a male soldier (age 21) and a 17-year-old female civilian were killed.

11. wanted IDF militants and suspected terrorists
Edited on Sun Dec-28-03 10:38 PM by Aidoneus
The collateral damage is unfortunate, but the IDF militants and "terrorists" shouldn't be hiding behind a civilian population..

16. nothing was really changed, just didn't like the original wording
Edited on Sun Dec-28-03 11:06 PM by Aidoneus
I'm often fairly neurotic & picky about that sort of thing ("second guessing" is not a rewarding hobby, but somewhat addictive), and had nothing to do with you. Still don't think of the wording as perfect, but the point being made is more important than my petty indecisiveness--and with practically instant gratification and demonstration no less, I thank you for that.

Not quite sure how moving a word or two around in the process of making it a more accurate imitation would've allowed me to get out of responding to your reply, for I was grateful at having a suspicion so quickly confirmed..

You love that shoe so much, except when it is on the other foot.. did you not recognize what was in the mirror?

3 out of 4 were IDF? That's a better ratio than the IDF normally achieves.

19. that's a good one...
when you know full well that the GOI targets enemy combatants anywhere, anytime. And quoting HRW? Any ship in a storm I guess.

It is the IDF policy that there is no such thing as off-duty concerning enemy combatants (see targeted assassinations). It's kinda lame to complain about your opponent using the same policy that you yourself use.

20. Your equivalency
...not mine. You are trying to make the IDF soldiers equivalent to terrorists, not me. The heads of the terrorist organizations are always legitimate targets. A member of an organization might be arrested by Israel, but unless he is engaged in hostile activity, he will not be targeted.

21. The only equivalency I saw made...
...was that both sides play pretty fast and loose with telling the difference between combatants and non-combatants. Heads of terrorist organisations would be legitimate targets, just the same way as Israeli troops are, but my question is just how many heads do these terrorist organisations have? They seem to have more bosses than a Public Service department does! Surely they must be very top-heavy groups going by the number of killings carried out by Israel, and most done with the protection of civilians being low on any list of priorities....

Who did that, and how did they do that, Gimel? I'm strongly opposed to suicide-bombings and don't see any way they can be legitimised, so I'm not entirely sure why you popped up in reply to my post with that comment...

24. Lack of comprehension
You didn't seem to understand my previous post, so I clarified.

I didn't say that you are not opposed to suicide bombings. Moral equivalency was brought up in terms of IDF assassinations of terrorist heads (the planners of terrorist attacks) and Israelis who are waiting at a bus stop.

The number of terrorist leaders is not the question, that is something else that you added that was not in the conversation previously. I don't feel like trying to explain this to you, but maybe you might think it through before claiming that it is part of this topic.

Which is not true.
