Eight Palestinians killed in Israeli raid

Eight Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers in one of their deadliest raids in Gaza.

Palestinian medics said gun battles erupted when Israeli tanks raided the edge of Gaza city on Wednesday. The Palestinian resistance group Islamic Jihad said at least five of its fighters were killed.

"The bloody message has been received…and the Palestinian people will know how to respond to it," an Islamic Jihad leader Muhammad al-Hindi said.

An Israeli army spokesman claimed soldiers had launched a raid to rout Palestinian fighters who frequently shoot mortars at the neighbouring Jewish settlement of Netzarim.

17. Not to seem like a hypocrite, but I cannot respond with a simple answer.

(me being such for the partial evasion of your question, but I have better reasons than those who constantly evade mine)

I cannot give you a plain 'yes'/'no' answer to that. While I am not fond of the human-bombs inside Israeli cities, I have no problems when the Israeli military is fired on when it invades cities & camps in the other occupied lands. In fact, I am in favour of every bullet fired and every rock thrown at these hostile invaders.

If the al-Quds & al-Qassam brigades were sending a column of tanks through downtown Tel Aviv, I would likewise not raise an eyebrow or a hysterical polemic when it is fired upon. Such is a very natural response to any invasion for any people that I can think of, no matter what linguistic gymnastics and propandistic sophistry could be mustered up to try and justify it.

It should be obvious I do not see the world in the same way as you do, thus I will not refer to things in the same terms.

At least eight Palestinians were killed in an Israeli raid into Gaza City yesterday - among them an 11-year-old boy, according to Palestinian doctors.

Dr Muawiya Hassanein of Gaza's al-Shifa Hospital said an 11-year old boy was among the dead. The other civilians were Musa Dalul, 32, a local stonemason, and Sameh Toteh, a 17-year-old mechanic. The other five dead were believed to be militants - four from Islamic Jihad, and one from Hamas.
