Jerusalem PostIsrael Aircraft Industries rolled out the first of three E-2C Hawkeye surveillance and control aircraft sold to the Mexican Navy.
"Once again, IAI proves its world-class professional abilities by performing a complex upgrade of the Hawkeye aircraft, thus making it usable for the Mexican Navy," said Director of SIBAT, Maj. Gen. (Ret) Yosi Ben Hanan.
"We accept, with great pleasure, the aircraft which will soon be operational and will assist us in our missions," said Vice Admiral Rosas.
Rosas said that Mexico needed the aircraft to help it in its war on terrorism and secure its extensive coastal and sea space.
