Palestinian gunmen execute 'collaborator' in Ramallah street

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AFP) - Three masked gunmen executed a fellow Palestinian in the centre of the West Bank city of Ramallah after accusing him of being a collaborator, witnesses and security sources said.

The three said they were from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, an armed offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat (news - web sites)'s Fatah (news - web sites) movement, witnesses said.

"The guy had a mask on and had his hands tied behind his back," one witness told AFP.

"Before they shot him, they took off his mask. They then said he was a collaborator and we sentence him to death."


The trio pumped around 10 bullets into the victim's back before fleeing shortly after 4:30pm (1330 GMT), witnesses said. The gunmen were armed with kalashnikovs, they added.

but I suspect that will end under Bush as the region becomes Iran times 5 when we pull out and run after the 04 election.

Your point about Iraq is well taken. I suspect that the colonial
administration there does not want that sort of News disseminated,
and I don't know how many reporters are anxious to run around in
Iraq at this point.

Islamic states seem fond of the public dispensation of Justice,
so I would expect to continue to see this sort of thing. Like the
Saudis and their public beheadings. They have a somewhat different
notion of judicial process too, but given that we have the highest
incarceration rate in the World, it's hard for me to get worked up
about the wonders of our "fair" courts. After dragging the dead
bodies of Saddams little darlings through the media, it's harder to
get much traction with charges of barbarism, too.

We need to buy them some bulldozers and helicopters with Hellfire
missles so they can pursue this sort of business in a civilized way.
No sticky residue left behind.
