"ISRAELI Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has had successful treatment in a suburban Tel Aviv hospital to remove a kidney stone, his office said.
He was expected to be discharged to his home within several hours.
The treatment focused attention on the health of Sharon, who is 75 and obviously overweight. Though he was severely wounded as a soldier half a century ago, he is not reported to be suffering from any significant health problems."

"Professor Boloslav Goldman, Sharon's personal physician, told Israel TV that the treatment would be a routine ultrasound method used to break up the stone for expulsion through the urinary tract.
A statement from Sharon's office said he expected to be back at work tomorrow. Before checking into the hospital, he was resting at his home at his Sycamore Ranch in the southern Negev Desert."
