Hizbullah shelling kills 16-year-old, wounds four in North
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/A/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1060491341415

Haviv Dadon, a 16-year-old boy from the northern border town of Shlomi, died from wounds sustained in a cross-border shelling attack by Hizbullah.

It is the first fatality in over a year of such shelling by Hizbullah. (Click here for a list of incidents on the border in the last three years.) The anti-aircraft shells landed on the town of Shlomi in the western Galilee. Four others were lightly wounded by shrapnel.

All were evacuated to the Nahariya Government Hospital by Magen David Adom "Natan" mobile intensive care ambulances.

Gabriel Na'aman, head of the Shlomi regional council, said that Haviv had worked for the council in a student clean-up town project. He said that as Haviv was finishing his workday of painting and picking up litter, a Hizbullah shell dropped 2 meters from Haviv, spraying him with shrapnel. He died shortly afterwards.

The mood in Shlomi and in other northern cities and towns is a mixture of sadness and anger. The residents had complained to both the Prime Minister and Defense Minister that Hizbullah's cross-border attacks would one day kill someone.

The Israeli side:
Funnels more money into the illegal settlements.
Builds a seperation wall through the middle of Palestinian land.

3. Palestinian land
I dislike our wall too. The difference is one is to keep workers out, the other to keep murderers out.

Illegal? SO,do you also condem American presence in the Southwest?

4. Hey
Why don't you just give us the web address(s) for your talking points? Two advantages:

1. It'd save you some cut and paste time.
2. It'd save everyone else the hassle of refuting you.

8. LOL
Sure, you keep telling yourself that.

Here's a hint:

MYTH: "terrorist prisoners"
FACT: A large number actually only imprisioned for non-terrorist offences - petty criminal behaviour, etc.

MYTH: "easing of restrictions for the Pal population"
FACT: Several places have had an increase in restrictions. Qilqyla, for example. Others have maintained the same restrictions. For example, the Halhul checkpoint in Bethlehem still enforces the "back to back" method for transporting goods (as do many others).

That is two blatant lies right there.

Now, the only reason I didn't respond factually to this poster is because:

1. They've got 2 posts, and both of them are in I/P. That raises instant suspicion I'm afraid.

2. It looks like an obvious cut and paste job, therefore it is pointless to engage in any kind of discussion. Anybody who doesn't formulate their own arguments is usually impossible to reason with.

And:

3. I presumed nobody was taking this seriously anyway. Looks like I was wrong. But hey, it won't be the last time. :D

9. Hay, don't insult people for having their first posts in I/P!
I think my first 300 or so were all here, on the old DU. I didn't start posting in GD until I had at least 600 or so...

10. There is no insult
I said if you have only 2 posts in I/P and those are your first, suspicions (nothing else) are raised at least at the outset. They can quickly fade, or be confirmed.

Anybody who has interacted with message boards where political views are the main topics knows exactly what I'm talking about.

Actually, if I recall, my first post was also in I/P on DU-1. I would assume everyone else held the same views towards that post as I do towards the one in this thread. Call me a cynic.

14. Palestinians
Sorry to disappoint you, I can figure out what's going on all on my own. Actaully anyone who is able to read, think, and logically appraise the situation can do the same.

My point remains if there were no terrorism, there would be no wall.

13. the unfortunate response to frequent aggressive warplane overflights
This did not have to happen--the quite frequent invasion of Lebanese airspace by Israeli warplanes and spyplanes will naturally draw a reaction, it is most unfortunate that in this occasion it caused a casualty.

If Hizbullah was flying jets over Haifa on a regular basis, would the Israeli military not fire at them as well?
