IOF Wounds Six Civilians in Nablus, Arrests Two in Qalqilia, Incurs into Rafah

Six Palestinian civilians, including four children were wounded Sunday as Israeli occupation forces opened fire at them in Biet Foreek village in Nablus governorate.

Palestinian medical sources at Rafidia hospital in Nablus said that Abdel Qader Hanani, 20, was shot with a live bullet in the left hand, Amjad Hanani, 22, was shot in the head, Mustafa Mislaih, 14, was shot in his belly.

Yosef Hanani, 10, was shot with a live bullet in the thigh, Yihia Hanani, 12 was shot in his leg and Mohammed Hanani as well was shot , due to which they all got medical attention in the hospital, the said sources added.

In another incident, Israeli occupation forces IOF dynamited early Sunday a Palestinian civilian house in Nablus refugee camp of Balata.

Eyewitnesses told IPC correspondent that IOF stormed the said camp, opened fire randomly against civilians’ houses and besieged the two-storey house of Sulaiman Abu Sleem, then forced its 12 members out.

10. It's hardly Faux style journalism
Fox defends Israeli terrorism and ethnic cleansing (kind of like yourself) whereas this news source clearly does not. Which side of the fence where you on again? Hard to tell lately.

12. It's hardly journalism at all
It's just pretend.

Journalism is supposed to be balanced. It's not. Journalism calls organizations by their real names, not by made up ones. Jouranlism is not slanted, it strives for fairness.

17. Didn't say that
I said it isn't journalism because it isn't. It's not balanced. There is no attempt at covering the other side. They use biased terms to refer to the IDF. In short, it's an opinion piece. It might contain some truth, but it's impossible to tell.

23. It wasn't an opinion piece...
Those children WERE injured. Are you now going to try to say that Palestinian medical workers are liars? No offence, but if you want to dig a deep hole of denial and hide in there, don't expect people who are interested in facts to get in there with you, Muddle....

I'm positive you have no comprehension of what bias or balance in the media is. If you did, I would have seen you squealing about the bias and lack of balance of things that have been posted here from Arutz Sheva, The Jerusalem Post, etc. Maybe you think they are balanced and unbiased? ;)

Anyway, a bit less whining about the source and a bit more discussion of the story itself, and even a tiny shred of concern for Palestinian civilians would make you appear to be a bit more credible in this thread...

Violet...

24. Unbalanced, not journalism
Since it wasn't journalism, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and called it opinion. It certainly isn't news.

How do YOU know those children WERE injured? Do you trust the sources? Was there ANY attempt at getting another side to the story? Was there a police report? Etc.

All people are biased. Professional journalists attempt BALANCE, something that this piece of propaganda does not do.

No, the source is the crux of the matter. If I can't trust that, there is no point in discussing what may or MAY NOT have happened.

26. Huh?
It was journalism. It just wasn't saying what you wanted it to say. Those children were injured because it was reported. Yr the only one who's saying they weren't, and I'll take the word of medical folk over someone like you any day unless you can provide some proof that they weren't...

You didn't answer my question about sources like Arutz Sheva and J Post, btw....

28. Balanced
Sources that attempt to cover BOTH sides of an issue, that use the official names of organizations (not propaganda terms) at least attempt journalism. This does not meet that standard. It is opinion.

30. So that counts out the biased Israeli sources I asked you about...
Y'know, the ones I've asked you about twice now, like Arutz Sheva and the JP. Covering both sides of an issue is not something they're into at all. Sorry, but it's only yr opinion on what constitutes journalism and what doesn't. It's not opinion that children are injured and killed in this conflict and it's absolutely disgusting that you try to claim otherwise by sticking yr head in the sand and speaking of journalism as if you think you have any idea what yr talking about when it comes to the media...

when a news source reports on Israel's continuing aggression, there are always worshippers from the Church of Israeli-State Worship to come out and distract from the story.

I don't see a "story," I see an opinion piece masquerading as journalism. Find journalism on the subject and we can discuss it.

15. Everyone has an opinion
It's just too bad that the opinion held by this news source, which is against Israel's aggression and ethnic cleansing is not the opinion you choose to side with. Funny thing, y'know us leftists do usually side against terrorism and ethnic cleansing. There's room for more if you ever want to hop aboard muddle.

19. Opinions
Yes, even journalists have opinions. But the reason we skewer Faux so much around here is that they make no effort to keep those opinions out of what they cover. This opinion piece is done exactly the same way, yet presented like journalism.

And I will grant you that use of the term 'IOF' does promote a particular opinion.

But what about the report is opinion? - Where is the opinion on this particular story?

29. The use of that term sets the tone
The lack of balance in the story makes it clear that it does not attempt to tell an evenhanded account. It's propaganda. It's opinion. It's not journalism.

16. Interesting- story grows during the day - seems 7 at Biet Foreek Arrested

Earlier in the day, “Israeli” troops stormed the West Bank village of Biet Foreek and arrested at least seven Palestinian civilians.
Eyewitnesses said that a contingent of “Israeli” occupation forces including dozens of tanks and military vehicles, blockaded the village then swept into it under a barrage of heavy gunfire.
Eyewitnesses added that the “Israeli” troops have been deployed intensively in the village, breaking into houses and arresting a number of civilians. Local sources said at least seven Palestinians were arrested during that “Israeli” invasion including: Ahmad Hannani 26, Fouad Wasef 28, Khaled Mohammad 28, Dawood Mohammad 30, Nedal Hannani 26, Mahmoud Khatatia 29 and Yaser Nasasra 28.

And IPC - the source of the original post - now only says (but earlier story is not withdrawn - I do like journalism in Arab countries!)
