The northern industrial area (erez), which gave work to 4,000 palestenians has now been closed after it was proven that it cannot be secure. Too many times palestenians dug tunnels, snuck in between the cracks, or just blew themselves up at the entrance terminal.
So to for the southern entrance at Rafiah....tunnel dug underneath, and more israelis dead....that too has now been closed.
Whats left is the Karni crossing, over 800 trucks daily pass from Gaza to israel and out to jordan. Here, like in the other crossings, over the years, the palestenians have attacked this as well, or have used it to slip through palestenian suicide bombers. Now we've got 5 more dead.
So the question in israel now being asked is why should israel even keep it open?, why should israel allow palestenian goods to pass though its territory when we pay for it in our blood? We certainly dont need the palestenian produce nor its products.
Those tunnels, are prepared and dug in palestenian territory, many times under the watchful eye of the PA security forces...it is their responsibility to stop them....which they apparently dont really care to do.
so perhaps it now time to close their last crossing...let the medicine, food flow in....but keep their trucks out of israel....
its called being responsible for ones actions, they cant protect whats in their own interests....we certainly dont have to
