'Murdered on his birthday'

Amid outbursts of anger and grief, Dror Gezri, one of the six Israelis murdered in the suicide attack by Palestinian terrorists at the Gaza Strip's Karni crossing late on Thursday night, was laid to rest in the Sderot cemetery on Sunday.
Gezri had been due to celebrate his 31st birthday with his wife, Tammy, and his family on Friday but he never came home to eat the cake they had prepared and take part in the celebrations.
Friends and relatives said Gezri had difficulty finding work and had taken the job as a laborer at the crossing to support his wife, as well as his widowed mother and a sister still living at home.
"He was murdered on his birthday, a person who never harmed anyone. His only 'crime' was his desire to work," Sasson Saraf, a neighbor and veteran resident of Sderot, told reporters prior to the funeral.
