Holocaust was Zionist plot, say Iranian news agencies
By ORLY HALPREN

While newspapers around the world last week acknowledged the Holocaust on the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the official government English-language Iranian news agencies called it a lie.

In an op-ed piece printed by the Tehran Times and the Mehr News Agency, both official Iranian government news outlets, Hossein Amiri claimed that the suffering of the Jews during World War II has been exaggerated "in order to neutralize any opposition to their diabolical plots." Those plots, declares Amiri, are to take over Palestinian lands.

In his piece, printed on the day of the commemoration of Auschwitz, Amiri concedes that the Jews had been persecuted and and many had died. "No one is trying to ignore the suffering of the Jews at the hands of the Nazis," writes Amiri, "The Nazi concentration camps were not holiday resorts... many innocent men, women and children died of hunger, illness, and other causes."

But the op-ed does not acknowledge any premeditated murder of Jews.

In fact, Amiri claims, the gas chambers in which Jews were brought to their deaths in millions were an invention of the Zionists and Allied forces, who "began formulating strange conceptions about the killing of Jews at Nazi camps which a modern man can hardly accept." "By conjuring up images of gas chambers, they are attempting to convey the idea that the Jews have undergone indescribable torture," writes Amiri.

``This is an inflammatory report concerning the Tsunami situation.

Note: There have been numerous conspiracy theories here in the West ranging from oil and gas exploration to HAARP to divine retribution (Phelps, etc.). The main problem with this conspiracy theory is that varied and easily discredited sources such as Al-Usbu (an Egyptian opposition paper known more for it's extreme anti-semitism) and a handful extremist clerics can garner greater press in the Occidental world than in the greater Arab world. It also tries and gives the impression that this is more than the work of a small few.

There is a difference between reporting the news and education versus catering the news to an audience that has picked what it wants to hear. The real discussion should have been why there is such a rush to report this as "news" when it is nothing more than sensationalism designed to draw attention to an agenda which would be ignored in a mundane situation. This is true for Al-Usbu and it is true for Fred Phelps.

The real net effect of all of these conspiracy theories is a very real effect on donations and support to the Tsunami relief efforts from both Oriental and Occidental sources.

16. Good thing Israelis Aren't buying this
The vast, vast majority of Israelis are no doubt offended by this as are pro-Israel Americans like myselfI. I suspect Ha'Aretz - a slightly left of center publication that is hardly a mouthpiece for Sharon - is publishing this to show just how extreme the settlers are. I'm sure Sharon was pleased when he saw the article as it will presumably diminish support for the settler movement. Fortunately, public opinion polls in Israel are showing that most people are ready to give them their packing papers.

8. So, Can We Bomb Tehran in Good Conscience Now? Lies About the Past Don't
justify future wars based on lies.

I lost my ancestors in the ovens too. But, I will not stand for the Likud gang's grand design for revenge and liebenstraum. I'm not ready to lose my present and future families for the sake of Sharon's displaced revenge and a spike in the price of oil futures.

11. A grand design for liebenstraum? --Those bastards!!!

O lieb, so lang du lieben kannst!
O lieb, so lang du lieben magst!
Die Stunde kommt, die Stunde kommt,
Wo du an Gräbern stehst und klagst!

Und sorge, daß dein Herze glüht
Und Liebe hegt und Liebe trägt,
So lang ihm noch ein ander Herz
In Liebe warm entgegenschlägt!

Und wer dir seine Brust erschließt,
O tu ihm, was du kannst, zulieb!
Und mach ihm jede Stunde froh,
Und mach ihm keine Stunde trüb!

Und hüte deine Zunge wohl,
Bald ist ein böses Wort gesagt!
O Gott, es war nicht bös gemeint -
Der Andre aber geht und klagt.

O lieb, so lang du lieben kannst!
O lieb, so lang du lieben magst!
Die Stunde kommt, die Stunde kommt,
Wo du an Gräbern stehst und klagst!

Dann kniest du nieder an der Gruft,
Und birgst die Augen, trüb und naß
- sie sehn den Andern nimmermehr -
In's lange, feuchte Kirchhofsgras.

Und sprichst: O schau auf mich herab
Der hier an deinem Grabe weint!
Vergib, daß ich gekränkt dich hab!
O Gott, es war nicht bös gemeint!

Er aber sieht und hört dich nicht,
Kommt nicht, daß du ihn froh umfängst;
Der Mund, der oft dich küßte, spricht
Nie wieder: ich vergab dir längst!

Er that's, vergab dir lange schon,
Doch manche heiße Träne fiel
Um dich und um dein herbes Wort -
Doch still - er ruht, er ist am Ziel!

O lieb, so lang du lieben kannst!
O lieb, so lang du lieben magst!
Die Stunde kommt, die Stunde kommt,
wo du an Gräbern stehst und klagst!

worthy of Mel Brooks.

The word you were after is "Lebensraum".
