Palestinian militants fire Qassams at Sderot

Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired a volley of Qassam rockets at the Negev town of Sderot on Tuesday morning.

At least two of the home-made projectiles struck the town. One made an indirect hit on the roof of a house, causing some damage.

A search by security officials located two other rockets that had landed in an open area close to the town.

Three people - a mother and two daughters aged six and 18 - were taken to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon to be treated for shock.

"I was woken up by the warning," said Shai Niv, a student who lives in the area. "There were two small explosions followed by a massive one, and people started to scream."
