IDF kills top Jihad operative in Jenin

A senior Islamic Jihad commander in the Jenin area was killed and an IDF soldier was lightly wounded on Tuesday morning during a fire exchange near Jenin.

A second Palestinian was killed in the shootout. IDF rejected claims made by Palestinian sources by which he was an innocent passer-by.

Soldiers of an elite IDF unit arrived at the town of Kabatia after intelligence information indicated the exact whereabouts of the senior operative, Marouh Kamil.

When the troops arrived at the location in an attempt to apprehend him, combatants opened fire from several spots.
