Sharon: there will be only one disengagement; after that, the roadmap

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Thursday reiterated his determination to complete the disengagement plan and denied any intention to carry out a second unilateral pullout in the West Bank.

"There will be only one disengagement, despite rumors of more to follow," Sharon told police chiefs at their final pre-disengagement assembly in Ashdod.

Israel's police will be heavily involved in the execution of the pullout plan as its officers will be .

Sharon said that if following the disengagement the Palestinian Authority succeeds to disarm the Palestinian militant groups and bring a complete halt to terror, he will favor a start to the implementation of the road map.

"Dealing with Israel's borders and the future of the settlements is the last stage after the implementation of all the agreements and understandings in the road map," Sharon said.
