Egyptian analysts blame Israel for Sharm el-Sheikh terror attacks

Less than 24 hours after terrorists killed at least 88 people in attacks on the Sinai resort town of Sharm el- Sheikh, Egyptian sources claimed that Israel was responsible for the deadly bombings.

The claims were apparently based on the fact that most of the victims were Egyptian nationals.

Egyptian media analysts, sources in Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and Egyptian parliamentarian Ala Hasnin, in an interview with the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television network, all suggested Israel was responsible for the attacks.

One Egyptian analyst interviewed by Al-Jazeera said that is was in Israel's interest to carry out such a terror attack and thus Jerusalem was thus responsible for Saturday's bombings.

The Egyptian analyst also added that Israel wants undermine its own disengagement plan - yet another reason, he said, to carry out attacks in Egypt.

Before they did, I will confess that I thought disgruntled Israeli settlers may have been beind the bombings, in a sort of retaliation for having to leave Gaza. But since a non-Israeli group has claimed responsibility, I've discounted my idea. However, realize what a shock it must be to Egyptians to think that al Qaeda might be targeting Muslims. They can't wrap their thoughts around the idea, and so they look to their old enemies as the culprits. When they finally realize who is really behind the bombings,things will be clearer. And if it does indeed turn out to be al Qaeda, they may begin questioning what al Qaeda's true aims are in the Middle East.

Natural gas is about as fungible as a commodity gets. More fungible then oil. (no sulfur or viscosity, or cyclic/alkane issues). It is traded on commodity markets.

Hopefully the revenue from this deal will be returned to the Palestinian people for services and infrastructure and investment - and not line the pockets of the power elites (as happened with crude oil).

More than 2,000 supporters of a coalition of radical Muslim groups rallied Friday in the Pakistani capital to condemn a crackdown on Islamic militants that has netted more than 200 suspects.

He said no terrorists were arrested in the raids on Islamic schools, or madrassas, and mosques, and demanded the release of all detainees.
