Exodus is on: Most families residing in the northern Gaza Strip have already left their homes, with the settlement of Dugit turning into a ghost town after only one family chose to remain there.

Police officials say there are only 35 families remaining in all northern Gaza communities, including 31 in Nisanit and three more in Elei Sinai. About 100 families have already left or are expected to leave in the next 24 hours.

...are, in fact, obeying the law and leaving Gaza voluntarily. Only a relatively small number of the most extreme are left there.

That's a very liberal use of vast majority. Even While secular settlements have been emptying out rapidly, some nearly empty even before eviction notices were served, it's an entirely different story when it comes to settlements containing the ultra-nationalist religious folk....

Although half of the Gaza Strip's 8000 Jewish settlers are now believed to have left their homes in the occupied Palestinian territory, thousands more — reinforced by up to 5000 religious-nationalist extremists from outside the area — have vowed to resist eviction in hardline settlements such as Neve Dekalim, Morag, Shirat Hayam and Kfar Darom.
