Arafat declares roadmap dead
I think its time to declare Arafat dead. He's the main obstacle to peace and prosperity for "his people" (I'm referring to palestinians, not Egyptians).

1. Don't be so damn impatient...

Sharon is trying as fast as he can to give you your wish.

Arafat is irrelevant. He controls NOTHING.
Hamas takes orders from Hamas.

But I agree with him. the road map IS dead.

There was cartoon in the campus paper yesterday with Chimp in a car stopped at a checkpoint, beyound which the road was torn up and tied in a knot. Sharon was in the guard shack, kicked back saying "I fixed it so you don't need a roadmap..."

2. it was never not dead
there was no way Arafat could let it happen. And I see he's busily getting rid of the phoney baloney prime minister as well.

YOu're right though, Arafat controls next to nothing but he's damned good at getting others to do terrible things.

It must suck to be a palestinian and know that your "leadership" insists on making your world as painful and horrible as they can make it so that they can line their pockets and seem important.

5. Both sides in this conflict have their fair share of...
...radicals, fanatics, and reactionaries who care only about winning at all cost. I, for one, am tired of the rest of the world getting dragged into the long standing racial hatred between the extremist on both sides of this idiocy. Acting like the either side of this conflict is the injured party when both sides have been responsible for stupidity after stupidity means you are too close to the issue to be objective.

4. The roadmap was dead when
Israel 'agreed' to it, then attached a whole bunch of conditions unilaterally, and on top of it, refused to abide by the terms of the roadmap to begin with. All this, while the U.S. media reported fawningly on Israel's 'acceptance' of the road map. What a farce.

10. The roadmap was a marketing slogan
It was the same old, same old repackaged into the same old.

I am surprised how many people fell for it. If anybody can tell me what is genuinely new about this peace plan, I'd love to hear it.

DOA.

9. The "roadmap"
was never anything more than political cover for Tony Blair.
Since Blair is now ruined, the roadmap no longer serves any purpose.

7. What about Sharon?
He never had any intention of freezing the settlement growth.

The roadmap was D.O.A.

11. Because of Hamas, Sharon, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade...
an d anumber of other extremists, the road map was doomed from the start. Neither Arafat nor Abbas is, or should be, on that list.
