August 24, 2005An Arab attacker wielding a large kitchen knife stabbed one yeshiva student to death and seriously wounded a second on David St. in Jerusalem's Old City Wednesday night, in what police claimed was a terror-related attack.
The assailant then fled the scene.
The attack comes just a day after Israel completed its evacuation from Gaza and four West Bank settlements.
The two haredi victims of the stabbing attack, reported to be in their mid-20's, were rushed by Magen David Adom paramedics to Hadassah University Hospital at Ein Kerem and Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Hospital.
The mortally wounded victim of the attack died an hour later on the operating table in the intensive care unit of Hadassah Hospital, having never regained consciousness.
