Lauro Chavez's DD-214: Fake But Accurate?
Jeez, this guy's story is unraveling rather quickly now. The sleuths over at the JREF forums have discovered some "post-scan" doctoring, which may explain some of the clear anomalies in Lauro's form.

http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=64837

BTW, check out Lauro's discussion of his good buddy, General Tommy Franks:

And I worked right for General Franks, I don’t know if you’re familiar with who Tommy Franks was? He was - I was the only individual allowed to work on his personal communications at his home and in his plane and I’d ask, General Franks, a few times, ya know, when I was over his house, and um, like, ya know: “Sir, what a ya think about all this”? And he’s well, he’s like, ya know, “Just” ... He’s like, ya know, “There are some things that need... that just happen and they need to happen and we don’t know why they happen but...” He gave this really, like, ominous answer and I’m like, Whoa man! Ya know, I wasn’t expecting that.

Totally, dude!

1. Interesting
My first impression was this guy was genuine. If he is not, then someone has put a fair bit of effort into the faking. Might just sit and wait for a while and see what emerges.

2. Many are asking questions and that is good, however, . . .

The doctoring or artifacts that they percieve to see may have just come from scanning the document on a scanner and sending it by email to Alex Jones. Haven't you ever seen a FAX machine or scanner copy add artifacts in a document?

Good to ask questions, but it seems to me you are out to try and prove this guy is a fraud. Your intentions are obvious. Wait and see. I think he is legit, until I have absolute proof he is not.

He sounds like a very intelligent, capable and honest guy to me. His on-air interview with Alex was great, the other interview was more off-the-cuff and she let everything into her script that she posted. Many people stall, say uuhhh, stuter, and talk like they are from SoCal all the time, no matter where you live in the US now. I guess our SoCal "Surfer" dialect has become pretty popular.

Wait and see. I think he is on the up and up. Who would want to put there life through this hell if it weren't true? Someone would have to be pretty sick to do that.

3. The Artifacts Repeat Themselves
Which shouldn't happen if they were just random fax artifacts. Look at how the YRS and MOS are the exact same on both lines. That this is not a function of the printer is obvious by comparing the "S" in YRS to the one in MOS.

4. The facts and issues raised are what's most important. Even if this turns

out to be a Karl Rove dirty trick ala James Hatfield (author, "Fortunate Son") - learning that the military exercises of 9/11 were declared "Top Secret" helps us to understand why it's all that much more absurd to claim that OBL & Co. were perps in a bizarre conspiracy. It is simply looney to think that ANYONE other than the U.S.Gov't (and/or its allies) could have carried out 9/11 UNLESS they had the cover of all those military exercises (including the ones at the Pentagon that were also scheduled for 9/11), and the Gov't hasn't said that anyone with a "TOP Secret" clearance leaked that information to OBL.

5. "[D]irty trick ala James Hatfield..."
I've read "Fortunate Son" and I wonder what you mean by this.

Could you clarify the statement you made? To what are you referring?

6. Rove leaked info to Hatfield, knowing Hatfield was vulnerable to

being discredited, and therefore once THAT became known, then the corporate media would "do their thing" and all or some of the most devastating information would now be portrayed as BS, because the author has been discredited.

In this case, the important information that Rove would have wanted to discredit is the part about how the exercises were TOP Secret, because knowledge of THAT implies treason by someone in the military (of high rank, most likely), since OBL couldn't have done 9/11 WITHOUT the cover of the exercises, and a story about treason by a member of the U.S. armed forces would be too juicy for the corporate media to NOT cover & there has been no such story in the media. THEREFORE, there was no such treasonous act (letting OBL know that 9/11 is when the attacks could be safely carried out), and that (along with everything else we now know) leads to the conclusion many of US here already know: 9/11 was an inside job.

So, Rove (or whomever) gets rid of that little problem (the TOP Secret business) by having a story leaked to the press that maybe has minor errors in it (or exaggerations like "Lauro" supposedly knowing a three star general etc.), told by someone ("Lauro") who can be discredited (and may not even exist as the person we've been led to believe), and whenever THAT happens, the bombshell information is itself discredited along with the author and the easily discredited other information in the article.

Yes. I see now.

I read Hatfield's book and wondered why its revelations didn't doom Bush. But next thing I know Hatfield's committed suicide and no one wants to talk about his investigative reporting.

The day that Karl Rove dies will be a day of celebration. He is a true AntiAmerican.

8. The most titillating thing in Hatfield's book probably IS a lie Rove told

Hatfield. I'm referring to the allegation that Bush was busted for cocaine in 1972. I don't believe he was. I think Rove told Hatfield that (and yes, I know two or three other people supposedly "confirmed" it to Hatfield) in order to inoculate the real TRUTH that Bush DID indeed snort up half of Peru. Rove knew that since Bush hadn't been busted, there couldn't be a record of it anywhere and if THAT allegation by Hatfield was untrue, then the stories about ANY use of cocaine (by Bush) would be placed in doubt.

11. Right 7+ #'s of coke. though Kevin Phillips did confirm the Court
ordered community service. ANd the 7#s of coke was in the St Martins Press version which was soon pulled, IIRC....
