I'm a bit late on this, but wanted to let you know the documentary Confronting the Evidence was aired on Italian state TV (RAI 3, the 3rd channel, the one Berlusconi would say is occupied by the comunists ;-)) last Sunday, Sept 24 at 9pm. One of the few times it's been aired on a national TV network. Everyone is all abuzz about it.
It was aired on the very well respected investigative reporting program called "Report." But don't think 20/20, Dateline, etc. They usually only cover one topic and the show is on for 2-3 hours. It is very well done, by far the best thing on Italian TV. Here's a quick translation of the introduction by the journalist who conducts the show, Milena Gabanelli:
"This film, which has been distributed free of charge, was the first to make a critical and systematic recontruction of what happened on Sept 11, and is based on a conference in New York in 2004 where independent experts and researches participated. The film has been around for 2 years on Internet, small satellite tv networks, it was aired on national TV in Malaysia, Venezuela and the Netherlands. All other countries have ignored it.
It is obviously a very controversial film, and deciding to transmit it doesn't necessarily mean to agree with everything in the film. Personal convictions are not terribly useful, we are talking about something that changed the world and it is our duty to provide all the information available and also to try to understand why over 1/3 of the American people do not believe in the official version and 66% of New Yorkers are asking that the 9/11 Commission be reopened."
