This really strange post is prompted by a truly strange occurrence.

In response to an idiotic demand of "Prove planes hit the towers!", I responded with the equally idiotic demand, "Prove Today is Tuesday". I did this twice. I've previously responded to similar imbecility with the demand, "Prove the Earth is Round." The point, of course, being that anyone denying the truth of completely accepted unquestioned fact is under obligation to defend his position.

Anyway. In this case, twice, the different CTers responded with the suggestion that, in fact, he/she was NOT sure it was Tuesday. That we had only the Gov'ts word for this. That the Gov't for its own purposes might have changed the calendar.

Now. This is wrong is SO many ways, I will not even attempt a rebuttal.

But. This seems to me a good introduction to the mental pathology of conspiracism. And to the futility of even attempting argument with such persons.

So. Conspiracists! YO!

Today is Wednesday! The Earth is Round. Real airplanes hit the Towers and the Pentagon. The Towers fell because of gravity. There is no Secret Shadow Government.

Now. That's cleared up.

There is NO PROOF that planes hit the towers. Look at the videos from that day. I have posted one where they couldn't get it at first, then they kept trying until a plane shows up. IT'S FAKE!

I never said there was a "secret shadow government". I've never seen anyone else here say that either.

If "gravity" made the towers "fall" then why are parts of it being forcefully ejected skyward and horizontally? Why were columns found embedded in other buildings a block away? Does gravity have lateral pull? lol

6. How does tens of thousands of eyewitnesses sound?

Because that's what you're flying in the face of to say that there were no planes. There were thousands of people in NYC who saw the first impact, and tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thouands, who saw the second. Are you saying that they're all lying? I invite you to go to NYC and start asking around, see how many people you can find who will believe what you're selling.

How about the dozens of different videos, and hundreds of photographs, that were taken by everyone from professionals on down to ordinary citizens? You want to say that all of those were faked? Care to explain how the hundreds of people who captured the day's events were all in on the conspiracy? Even the photos and video which were never shown by the media? It's easy to find one video where you could interpret it as fake if you really want to. I'd like to see you challenge all the other people who have videos and pictures, and tell them that they're liars.

And out of curiousity, did you expect a half million pounds of skyscraper to calmly fold itself up and collapse in its footprint? Of course there's going to be scattered debris. In a collapse, kinetic energy is transferred in all directions, including the odd bit of ejecta.

Nobody has ever come up with a single piece of evidence for the use of explosives, as you seem to be contesting. The best that's ever been offered is photos of the collapse with ridiculous assertions of "Look at the explosions! Thermite! Magic fairy dust!" and demands that everyone else prove that it didn't happen that way. A quick refresher course through high school science, would pretty quickly quash most of these silly theories.

The post you are replying to made a credible estimate of the number of witnesses. It's a crude estimate, but the number is very clearly large and not restricted to media and government. And, most certainly too large for all to be bought off, threatened, or deluded.

I'd have to look, but I remember reading an article sometime after September 11th, 2001 that detailed how there was someplace on the East coast where a number of gov't officials were "stashed" in order to ensure that a NBC attack wouldn't cripple the government (IMO removing Bush and his cronies would do the opposite, but that's another matter).

Does anyone else remember this, or am I mixing fiction with fact?

Officials who are activated for what some of them call "bunker duty" live and work underground 24 hours a day, away from their families.
